1 Million Heineken Hugs

Heineken has reached 1 million fans on their Facebook fan page and therefore the brewery wanted to give something back something special to their loyal fans – a great hug! Heineken sent their best friends out in bars to give one “like” back – and we think that a few green bottles were served as well. Please note the great logo on the t-shirt – a nice little detail.

Many brands form a friendly, warm relationship with the consumer by creating and hosting events such as these. Such an event can perform even when it goes viral – perhaps you are a bit jealous because you weren’t at the bar, but the positive reactions and smiles will give you a good feeling. This is exactly what this movie does for you.

You Need to Get Off Facebook

The post of the day tells the story of a former user of Facebook that tells you his honest opinion about the social site. Ross Gardiner wants you to think about who your real friends are, because you don’t have 852 “friends”. Ross has been clean now for more than 5 months.

Think about who your real friends are, and check out this anything but pro-Facebook film – very refreshing.

It’s hard to imagine a world without Facebook though. One Hollywood movie later (The Social Network) and more than 500 million users gives Facebook a dominant position in our everyday life. If you are to believe Goldman Sachs then the value of Facebook is more than $50 billion! The point that Ross Gardiner is making is not the kill Facebook, be simply consider the life outside Facebook. If you like his video then check out his blog.

I AM PLAYR

Good news if you love football and want to spend more time on Facebook. Nike has in collaboration with Facebook developed the game “I AM PLAYR” that contains elements of FIFA, Championship Manager and different kinds of role-playing games. You are the new star in British football’s top level and you have to train, play games and decide which girls to seduce – basically be David Beckham. If you make the right choices you will make it to the top, but be advised, you are competing against other players/users.

The trailer shows clips of the game and it has obvious references to Nike’s popular “Take It To The Next Level” advert from 2009, directed by Guy Ritchie.

Get ready to play from January 2011, good luck and “olé olé”!

Do you ever wonder if the things you write on Facebook will at some point disappear? Facebook Messages will help you store some of the memories, but some things will disappear eventually. This thought was used by Bouygues Telecom when they needed promotion for their new Facebook site. The company offered to print and send an actual book with your Facebook history.
