A weak follow-up?
Your Weekly Buzz has been on Easter holiday, but is now back behind the keyboard!
For those who visit this blog on a regular basis might remember the post about Match.com and the ad “Accidental Duet”. A follow-up movie is out now, but the excitement is not even close to the same level it reached when we saw the first one. The first film contained romantic fervor and a fresh spring feeling that is fairly rare in adverts for dating sites. This new advert lacks both the freshness and the fervor. The music is in the same genre as the first one, but tying up laces is just not as romantic as an accidental duet in an old music shop.
This is an example of a campaign that starts out great, but ends up being a mundane and ordinary advert for “just another dating site”.
Accidental Duet
Spring is upon us and it has also hit your Weekly Buzz. This new ad for Match.com tells a sweet love story – without being corny. It has a catchy song and the atmosphere in the small but charming music store gives you the feeling of spring and warmth.
If you aren’t already, we can strongly recommend, that you visit small music store more often – and perhaps fall in love.
