Canada Wonderland

As a part of Canada Wonderland Parks 30th birthday artists at Toronto-based Tantrum Design has created one of the most spectacular 3D projection mappings seen in a while. If you are a frequent reader of this blog I’ll know that we love 3D projection mapping, but compared to other projections we have seen (even our favourite: the Orloj tower in Prague), this projection is a masterpiece. The “canvas” for this projection is an entire mountain, and the mountains rough, uneven surface gives a spectacular visual impression.
The projection takes 10 minuets so get comfortable.

3D Living Room

We have previously written about the possibilities with projectors and the art of projection mapping. The first time we wrote about the sensory box, a piece of “furniture” that is quite the party feature.  In October we wrote about the celebration of the 600-year-old Prague Orloj where Mercula (a team of visual artists) had done a stunning animation that was projected on to the tower.

Today we give you a way to redecorate and change the style of your living room within seconds. The Dutch team called Mr. Beam is behind this project where a white living room is filled with life – and everything is done with only 2 projectors.

Perhaps IKEA should think about using this technology in their show rooms? It would certainly save a lot of space and it would be easy – and very practical – for the costumer to consider the various combination possibilities. Projection mapping could be the future.
