Ted Williams: The Overnight Internet Sensation

Today’s post is about another overnight sensation. We wrote about Antoine Dodson who went from being a ”victim” in a rape case, to being world famous due to autotune. YouTube is increasingly becoming a place where people can get famous within a few days, and this is exactly what happened to Ted Williams. On the 4^th of January a video clip was uploaded to YouTube featuring a homeless guy who was standing at a freeway exit holding an unusual sign saying that he has “The God given gift of a great voice” – and this was 100% correct. The video clip got more than 13.000.000 views in less than 48 hours!

From this point on everything went very fast for Ted. He was contacted by various radio stations, and rumours are circulating that he might end up as an announcer on a stadium. The really sensational part of the story is that all this happened in less than 72 hours.

Ted’s dream is now to get a job and a home – perhaps, in these difficult financial times, the idea of the American Dream isn’t dead at all?
